the creative zine

The Creative Zine accepts online submissions of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, hybrid, experimental and visual work from anyone and anywhere. We do not charge any submission fee. Once we select your work for publication, we will acquire the right to publish and promote your work through the website and social media platforms of The Creative Zine. All the rights will be retained by the author upon publication.

This goes without saying: we DO NOT tolerate work that is racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, hurts religious sentiments, or promotes violence in any form. Submissions are read by high school students so we do not accept profane or explicit content, too.  Please also note that we are unable to compensate our contributors at this time (but we hope to do so in the future!)

We encourage submissions made by historically marginalized, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ creators among others. We stand with the Black Lives Matter Movement, Human Rights Movement, Animal Rights Movement, LGBTQ+ Rights Movement, and more.

Please feel free to send your work to as many venues as you wish simultaneously. We give each submission our utmost care and respect so we would really appreciate it if you inform us when your work has found a home elsewhere! We would like to congratulate you! 

We usually respond to submissions within 30 days.

General Guidelines:

• Written Word Submission: Poetry, Prose, Hybrid, Experimental -- 1 piece only

• Visual Submission: Artwork, Photography, etc -- 5 pieces maximum

• .doc, .docx, .pdf file type

• Please put your work in one packet when submitting more than one piece.

• Maximum 3,000 Words
